Here he is all complete!

There were a few tense moments this weekend.  During grouting, some casualties occurred with a few bits that came loose – emergency surgery was performed and the patient survived.

The next day I noticed 2 other casualties but by then it was too late, the grout was set.  They’re minor though and hopefully will be just the kind of thing only I notice, and no I’m not going to tell you where they are, perhaps it will be a puzzle you can try and figure out!

After grouting I was unhappy with him as I’d gotten so used to seeing him without grout.  But after a bit of clean up and finding the perfect color for the frame I was again in love.  🙂  The frame looks black in the pic but it isn’t, it’s really a dark grey with a fleck of metallic in it, very pretty and it complements the grey in the piece well.

The fish himself too is good in the pics but in real life, in the light, he is so much better.  His bits catch the light and shimmer as you walk by.

Next challenge:  find the perfect place in the house where he can live!

He’s gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing 😀

  3. Diana says:

Beautiful! I just love the movement in this piece. If you have no place in your home to place Mr. Koi, then he is welcome to reside at my house!
